Another one of our world famous nixie tube clocks up for sale.
The housing comes from an antique Weimar Quartz clock made in Germany in the 60’s. Took the clock apart and sanded the wood gently to prepare for couple passes of dark Walnut varnish. Sanded again to make deformations, give an aged look which was finished with lots of dark wax spread with a cloth to give this uneven look and add time and depth to the clock housing. Carved the wood to open enough space for the tubes at the front. Cut a brass metal sheet to fit the facade dimensions and using my unique oxidation process I added a cool steampunk design! Last I placed push buttons on the front to give access to clock functions.
Power supply input at the back. 12V adapter needed to power the clock.

A brand new design! A great addition to my world famous nixie tube clocks up for sale.
The front panel is a brass sheet, the image was hand-carved and transferred with a unique technique via oxidation. This is not a print! Wonderful variation in the patina and aging of the metal sheet gifted by this process makes it look like an artifact from another time period, or maybe a parallel universe?
Access to clock functions with two momentary push buttons on top the casing.

Another one of my world famous nixie tube clocks up for sale. Decided for this one to take an upcycle path. The box used to house the power supply for a PC. Painted the box using 7 different spray cans. White primer, black, light brown, blue, silver, copper paint. Finished with 6 layers of clear varnish!
The metal pieces on the front are made of brass. Used liquid ammonia to oxidize the brass and make this pattern. The metal sheet inside the box, seen on the top is copper. Also gifted some wonderful patina with liquid ammonia oxidization.
Added decorations, metal parts from a local manufacturer. Also painted all the screws and bolts to match the box colors.
Placed push buttons on top to give access to clock functions and an on/off toggle switch to power the clock.

The electric circuit is brand new, assembled by myself.

This is a sneak peak. Work in progress about to complete. About 3 months in the making. Turning an old Crown cassette / radio into an epic Nixie tube clock. The circuit is complete, some finishing touches and additional cosmetics and decorations and its done. Contact us to reserve this beauty. 🙂

– Two motors spinning one in 3RPM and the other in 8RPM rotating the two cylinders in the back. (right toggle switch)
– Dimmable bulb inside the salvaged tv part (left silver knob)
