Introducing: Mirror #2
Another one of my steampunk tire mirror series.
The body of the mirror is a car tire I found. Cut it in half to reduce the distance from the wall. Then I bought a copper ~30mm thick sheet cut it in 16 pieces and gifted the metal with some wonderful patina by oxidation using liquid ammonia (***please read the don’t section***). Painted the tire with gold spray. Glued the final products of the oxidation to the tire using contact adhesive to resemble the pedals of a flower. I bought a black garden hose and painted it using a copper colored spray and a special spraying technique to give this aged look and then glued this at what was to become the back of the mirror. Last I glued the 35cm mirror.

DO AND DON’T
*** Warning!!! Reading about liquid ammonia you might be tempted to try this yourself. Liquid ammonia is one of the very dangerous chemicals out there. You need to have the appropriate protection / knowledge to mess with it. Please do a LOT of research before trying to use it and buy protective wear.***
